Is October the correct time to plant a Lily Of The Valley shrub and do they like shade e.g. under trees or in the sun. I want one that smells nice and is hardy. I really appreciate being able to ask advice

Lily of the Valley, or Pieris require dappled light (semi-shade), good rich soil that is moist but not wet. They like slightly acidic soil, so they go well with Azaleas, Camellias, Rhododendrons in a shady border or woodland area, under trees where it can get dry is not ideal. A good, tidy compact variety is Pieris japonica

Hi Heng Ang, The Lily of the Valley will be starting to come into stores, it would be worth giving your local store a call on 0800 PALMERS to check for stock availability.
Thanks the Palmers Team
