MY NEW LUISA PLUM TREE WAS COVERED WITH ANTS WHICH i HAVE SPRAYED WITH sUCCESS. tHIS SEEMS TO HAVE GOT RID OF THE ANTS. tHE LEAVES ARE CURLED UP. aRE THESE PLUMS SUSEPTABLE TO LEAF CURL?

Hi Zena,
Plums are not susceptible to the leaf curl that you often see on peaches but they can suffer from one of two things that cause a similar curly leaf.

Leaf Curl Aphids:
These aphids on your plum leaves can cause the leaves to curl, check the underside of the leaves for evidence. You have already sprayed with success so I’m sure you would have eliminated them if they were there. -
Bladder Plum
Just like Leaf curl, this is a fungal disease and can be controlled by a copper fungicide. Try using Copper Free Flow (Certified organic) or Liquid Copper.
