I planted a mandarin and a lemon tree about 4 years ago. The lemon tree is small but fruiting. The mandarin tree is twice the size, very leafy but no flowers or fruit. Any suggstions?

Hi Kevin, Mandarins are normally reliable in giving fruit from 2nd 3rd year. Ensure you use a balanced fertiliser not one that has only got a high Nitrogen level as this promotes Green growth only (ie lots of Compost). Don’t be scared to prune this at the end of winter as well as during the summer to contain the overall size of the tree.
Thanks the Palmers Team
