We have a twenty five year old maple tree which appears to be losing some of it’s cannopy with the leaves from the smaller branches dying.
Could the recent spell of very dry weather be affecting it?

Hi Graham, Yes this can be, especially since the dry weather has come earlier than usual so leaves are still fresh and not “hardened” yet making them more susceptible to extreme weather conditions. The tree being 25 years old there is little you can do apart from letting mother nature run it’s course. (in autumn if possible you could remove/cut the dead wood out.
Thanks the Palmers Team
