Hi there

We are laying down a new food garden at our school. We need edging with a straight edge so I wondered about railway sleepers. However I have heard that many of them are treated with chemicals. Is there such thing as an untreated type of sleeper available for those keen on organic gardening?

Hi Roimata

Thanks for your question. Getting gardens growing for schools is always such a great idea, well done! Yes you will be looking for Macrocarpa sleepers rather than railway sleepers which are treated.

Happy gardening
