I have been given two young olive trees in pots. I have prepared well-drained soil beds for them in an all-day sun situation. When would be the best time to transfer them from the pots to the soil?

Hi Roger, Autumn is natures best planting time, so right now would be a good time. A couple of proviso’s would be: the young plants need to be well established in the existing pot (have a well established root system). Secondly, the position they are going into needs to be reasonably well sheltered from the winter weather (especially wind). If you find they are going into a pretty tough environment it might be best to wait till late spring. Thanks, the Palmers team
