Hi! Just wondering if you have any suggests for a plant that we could purchase on behalf of the Manawatu Multiple Birth Club for a member that has just delivered her twin boys today (one still born). We are wondering about a rose with a special name in memory of the baby that has died? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Sharon, this will be a difficult time, with lots of mixed emotions. Predominantly people go either to something that has a tie in with a name (as you mentioned a rose) or alternatively people use a Native Tree like Totara, Rimu, Kauri etc. Sometimes plants like roses have a limited lifespan although looking nice and positive at the time, compared to a tree that tend to live longer but doesn’t look so pretty when being given. You would be best to give your local store a call on 358 6925 and they will be able to let you know if they have any specific roses that are fitting, or any native trees that you think are appropriate. Thanks, the Palmers team
