My pittosporum planted last summer and about 3m tall looks as if it is dying. The bottom branches are bare and the leaves are turning yellow. What can I do?

Hi Susan, we are assuming since it is now 3m tall it has grown quite nicely over the past year? In this case the plant is now under stress and by dropping it’s leaves it is trying to survive. Some stress factors can be; too dry or too wet or spray drift from weed spraying. Often pittosporum will drop the leaves from the bottom due to lack of light. If you can identify the stress factor, try to eliminate this and also give the plant a good trim as this will encourage new growth and let in some light lower down. Thanks, the Palmers team
