Hi Bernice,
Mushrooms in your soil can actually be a good thing. It means that your soil is rich and it is helping breakdown some of the organic matter. Mushrooms are usually present when there is decaying wood or organic matter.
If you would like to reduce the number of mushrooms, reduce your watering and let the soil dry out. Remove and continue removing the fruiting bodies and also aerating the soil will help. You could also spray the soil with a fungicide.
