For the second year running I have lost my entire good crop of nectarines due to brown rot almost overnight. This year I sprayed the tree with copper spray several times and only a week or so before I lost them. What do commercial growers do to prevent this? Incidentally a nearby peach tree doesn’t suffer nearly as much.

Hi Jocelyn, Sulphur is another spray that you could use, but also ensure you have a really good winter clean up spray (Lime sulpur, Copper and oil and removing all old leaves etc) If this doesn’t work replace the variety with a variety not so susceptible, although it has been a terrible year with high humidity.
Thanks the Palmers Team
