A four year old gooseberry will only just be getting fruit, but there are some factors to check first. 1/ if you plant is drying out between watering it will not fruit. 2/ if winters are not cold enough where you live it will not fruit. 3/ Gooseberries are heavy feeders and will not fruit if hungry. It sounds like you have that sorted and the only other thing is that you are not overfeeding it. Have a look at some of those factors.
