Can anyone advise how to eradicate onion weed which has gone from the front gardens to the back and in amongst my roses. Prefer to do it organically but desperate to try anything

Hi Megan
Onion weed is a tricky one to rid of in your garden. Kiwicare manufacture an Organic solution called Organic Weed Free Rapid. You have to be careful with its application as it will kill all plants it touches. I find the best way to weed with this solution around plants to keep it to create a cone out of plastic (like polythene) first and wrap the plants you wish to keep. Be sure when spraying (even when plants are wrapped) that you don’t spray all the way up to the species you wish to keep. Hand weed around these plants first and once the weeds have died from the spray, bag and dispose of the plants rather than compost them.
Happy gardening
