I have grown some cyclamen in pots outside, were beautiful last year, but this year the leaves wilted and came away from the bulb. On investigating I found that the bulbs’ roots were all gone and a white grub in the soil underneath the bulb and also boring into the bulb. What do you suggest I do, I put some diazanon granules around the bulb but doesn’t appear to have altered the situation. Can you advise me please?

Hi Ngaire, Diazanon is a pretty hefty product to use (would work though!). Also keep an eye on the watering especially early on in the season. You could also try using Neem granules on a regular basis. With cyclamen in pots it may even pay to lift the corm when the foliage dies down then replant when the time is right. Thanks, the Palmers team
