I have a 7-8 Ph in my vegetable garden. What is the best way to lower it? No lime has been added for 3 years, only home made compost and Tui Novatek Fertiliser. Green crops of lupins go in when there is space.

Hi Rodney, firstly, is the measurement accurate? Have you had difficulty growing crops in this area? (stunted growth poor root development). We would be hesitant to recommend specific trace elements like aluminium sulphate (this is generally used for specific plants like wanting Blue Hydrangea). We would stick to maintaining a good organic component (maybe check the ph of the compost prior to adding to the soil). Ad organic fertiliser like seaweed, compost tea or fish tonics, this will encourage worm activity and hence better soil environments. Thanks, the Palmers team
