I have an old very large leggy red robin tree about 4-5 mtrs tall. I need to cut it right back to bare trunk and branches as it is out of control and I cannot reach the top to trim.
Can you tell me what month is the best to do this (don’t know if bugs or frosts could affect it if I cut at the wrong time). thanks

Hi Sue, If you do it right now you will get some new growth prior to winter, if you are unable to do this in the next 2-3 weeks wait until August. Thanks the Palmers Team
