Hi I’m wanting to plant 2 trees (rimu, totara)on top of my kids whenuas (placentas)any advice would help heaps as I don’t want burn the roots

Hi Ross,
My advice would be to dig the hole a little bit bigger than usual, we usually say twice the size of the pot your tree came in. I would dig it just a little deeper to allow room for the placenta.
I would then put some soil on top of the placenta to allow it to decompose before it reaches the root system, once it decomposes it will add good nutrients to the soil.
