Hi there.
I have ordered 5 largish tree ferns (Dicksonia Fibrosa) and have dug some big holes for them.
Ive struck clay at the bottom however, and was wondering what medium i should put in the hole first, before planting them. Im worried their roots will rot if theyre planted into the clay.
Many many thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel, Plant the plant about 10cm above normal soil level, mix in existing clay soil with Palmers general garden mix and use this as your planting medium, top this off with a good layer of Kolush manuka Garden Mulch.
Thanks the Palmers Team
