When is it good to plant trees into the ground that are started in a pot? such as Avocado or a “five finger” or Pohutukowa.

Hi Dale,

As some of the trees you mentioned are frost tender, I would recommend holding off until spring to plant them. Late October, when chances of frost have passed will be the best timing. For now, protect the trees from frost by putting them in a frost-free area or using frost cloth protection.

If you are wanting to plant any deciduous trees, winter is the best time for planting.
