Hi
What type of plants do you recommend for a perimeter area that has poor drainage clay soil?

Hi Meg,
For plants to be successfully grown in this environment you will need to address the poor drainage. This can be achieved by planting higher (out of the ground and adding additional soil around the plant), plus a good stake! This way any excess water runs away from the planting space. A hardy plant is Lily Pilly but even this variety will have issues if it gets waterlogged in winter. But try planting higher and this should give your plants a better chance!
Thanks, the Palmers team
