My daughter is getting married in February next year and I want to plant up potted gardens and borders with something suitable. I love petunias but this year they were over by February. If I planted them later would this work? I love bizzy lizzys too – I have any area that is quite damp – would these work here?

It might help if they were planted a bit later – select, good sized ones with plenty of flowers and ensure that they are well watered, regularly and apply liquid fertiliser to help them along. Busy Lizzies / Impatiens will cope with damp soil, so long as its not too wet, and still has reasonable light levels as they can get long and leggy in shade.
