I purchased a tango tamarillo last year, when it reached over a metre high I removed growing tip as advised by staff member. The trunk then divided in two, and looks like two trees on one trunk. What is the best way to prune this tree?
It has fruit on it that are starting to ripen but the top leaves are turning yellow from the couple of frosts we got a couple of weeks ago.. Any help you can offer would be appreciated, I am 80 yrs old but growing tamarillos are new to me. Kind regards.

Hi Judy, You are on the right track, but do not prune at this time of the year wait until late September you can then trim them to control the height (the frost might also burn the tops which will force the Tamarillo to branch out as well).

Thanks the Palmers Team
