Hi, are Rainbow Roses real? and can be grown from seeds?
I know The rainbow rose is a rose that has had its petals artificially coloured. The method exploits the rose’s natural processes by which water is drawn up the stem. By splitting the stem and dipping each part in different coloured water, the colours are drawn into the petals resulting in a multicolored rose.
I have seen many online shops selling Rainbow Roses seeds and wonder if it’s actually real.

Hi Nameer, from what we can see we very much doubt that these are a real thing. Mixed coloured roses are possible, but often it is due to a virus, never to the true level of one complete petal one colour and another petal completely different colour. The changing of flower colours by means of capillary action is possible, but once again we can’t see this being possible petal by petal and as far as we are aware it is only done commercially with specific flowers. Not aware of roses being one on them.
Thanks, the Palmers team
