We are having some horrible little insects eating our silverbeet leaves and also our rhubarb leaves. The only insects we see around that area are ants, and I’m sure it would not be them. I thought it may have been earwigs but haven’t seen any lately. It is not just tiny holes – some of the holes are quite big and I cannot use the silverbeet leaves at all. If you know what it is, what can we do please. Thanks

Hi Relda, Sometimes birds will pick on the new growth, and as you mentioned earwigs can also do damage. Ants are normally a sign of aphids (but they will not leave holes) Just check for caterpillars just incase.

Thanks the Palmers Team
