when putting a stick in water to start growth do you apply a spoonful of “baking powder”?

Hi Ken,
This is not something I have personally heard of doing but I wouldn’t dismiss it, sometimes some gardeners use baking soda for uses such as weed control and prevention of fungus.
I would think the idea of adding baking powder could be to prevent the plant from getting rot or fungus as it develops the roots.
I have tried to track down some information for you but my research results have not come up with much advise. You could experiment and do some without baking powder and some with and see what gives you the best results, I would be very interested in hearing what worked for you. From my research you should work on a 1% ratio to water for fungus control, so do not put too much in the mix.
