Hi
I’ve been given a tillandsia (air plant) and have been putting it in water about once a week (as per the instruction card that came with it). However, the leaves are starting to go brown, curling up and looking like they are dying. I’m not sure if I have given it too much water, or with this heat the last few weeks I’ve not given it enough water!!! Help please! I don’t want to kill it as it was a present from my brother and his partner!
Thanks
Caroline

Hi Caroline, Unfortunately, it could be both. If you have it in a draught then it will dry out really quickly and might need more water, if it is in a position where it will stay wet/damp for a period of time then it is staying too wet (the symptoms are the same) Rather than soaking it in water you might be better to use a mister and mist the plant daily , but make adjustments according to the position it is in.

Thanks the Palmers Team
