Hi first time Gardner here. my bigbeef tomato seems to have stunted growth and the veins in the leaves are turning brown. I need advice as to how to diagnose te problem and the treatment needed. Thanks!

Hi Sheena, A couple of things potentially could be causing this, most people tend to give Tomatoes way too much water while they are getting themselves established, this will result in stunted growth and discolouration in the veins. Possibly a deficiency in a fertiliser/trace element in the soil, this can happen if you are reusing a potting from last year. If the plant is in a pot you will be able to assess if the plant has too much water by lifting the pot, you will be able to recognize the fact the pot is “heavy”. In a garden situation the soil should be friable and easy to work over. Thanks the Palmers Team
