I have followed your instructions re training a passionfruit vine. I have the main leader pinched out when it reached the top of the netting I fixed against a fence. I have three laterals each side equally spaced. But that’s as far as your instructions go. What happens now. There are further stems appearing growing from the laterals, some going down, some upwards. Do I take these out completely and just keep the laterals or do I let these ‘run riot’ or pinch them out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Carol, I would not do any pruning at this stage wait until early spring (as they fruit on new season growth) You have the frame work in place so that in spring the ones that have run riot trim them back, as that will create more new growth that should produce fruit in Autumn. Thanks the Palmers Team
