Hi there,
We are wanting to espalier fruit trees in our front garden with herbs below in the front. Should we use treated or untreated timber posts to build the espalier frame? We intend on using posts and wire.
Many Thanks!!

Hi Stacey,
It all comes down to personal preference on if you want to use treated or untreated timber. In my opinion using treated timber would last longer, as it is being used for posts rather then garden edging or for veggie boxes, I think treated timber would be fine as it should not leech into the soil and the fruit tends to be espaliered along the wire.
