I was wondering how the lucky bamboo plant should be trimmed? From the top or bottom?

The trimming should be done with sterile secateurs. You can trim offshoots back to within a couple of cms of the main stem. New shoots will soon emerge, and the resulting plant will be bushier. Cut the shoots off just above the leaf bract. If you wish, you may apply a little paraffin wax to the cut surface of the original plant. Smaller stalks will branch out just below the cut and you’ll have a fuller, more leafy plant as a result. Whether you trim from the top or bottom is up to you and the shape that you’d like your plant to grow into.
