Hi my grape vine has vine hoppers sucking on the vine runners, how do I get rid of them? The grapes will be ripe in a few weeks, thanks , Mike

Hi Michael,
You can use a product called Debug Diatomaceous Earth. This product is organic. You can dust it over the fruit as well as the leaves.
Alternatively, you could use a product called Yates Natures Way Fruit & Vegie Gun. It has a withholding period of only a day so it shouldn’t affect you eating the grapes when they are ready, sticking within those guidelines. Spray all the foliage including the underneath of the leaves.
Spray in the evening when spraying will cause less harm to the bees and be less stressful on your plant. Spray at weekly intervals if required and you continue to see the insects.
To prevent these insects on your plants in the future water frequently over the summer period and keep your plants well fed.
