I have had some Jersey Bennies certified seed potatoes chitting since early July. I put them outside in the light but not direct sunlight. They eventually grew dark sprouts about 1cm long, but these have not grown noticeably for about the last month. Why aren’t they sprouting a bit more enthusiastically? When should I plant them?

Hi Ruth, It’s probably not warm enough to keep the sprouts going, you could try putting them in a dark warm position (hot water cupboard) as long as they have some sprouts visible you should be able to plant them out.
Thanks the Palmers Team
