Three years ago we planted a sweet orange tree in a spot which gets good morning sun. It has had citrus fertiliser applied regularly but has never fruited. Could soil be lacking a trace element? Suggestions please

Hi Lenice, I am assuming that the tree has grown well and has lots of new leaves. It normally does take 2-3 years for a tree to mature and start bearing fruit, although I would have hoped that the odd flower/fruit had developed by now. Make sure that you use a good mulch around the tree (Like the Kolush manuka Seaweed mulch) this will ensure no competition from weeds around the tree. If the tree is healthy flowers will appear (keep up the Citrus fertiliser).

Thanks the Palmers Team
