The leaves of my Gardenia are turning yellow (some are) Could this be because of the very wet winter we have had? It is a fairly new plant and should be thriving

Gardenias do need good drainage in the cold wet months, as cold water around the roots for long periods of time will cause the leaves to yellow and fall off. Otherwise it could be due to a fertiliser deficiency. As gardenias are acid loving plants you should only feed them with a suitable fertiliser specifically made for acid loving plants.
