Some of my zuchinni start to grow then stop leaving them short and stubby, is tis from lack of ferilizer. Also can you tell me the best way to condition clay soil to make it viable for vegetable gardening, I have added gypsum, compost, mulch and vegetable growing mix. Is there a crop I could plant in there to feed the soil while I rest it through the winter

You have done all the right things to improve the soil. THe most common wintering over crops are mustard or lupin, which are always beneficial.
