Hi there,

I have a number of Feijoa plants that have developed some brown spots on the leaves. How do I get rid of them? Can I spray something on them, or should I cut them off?

Love your work.

Thanks
Tracey

The house we have moved into has a good sized vege patch but its completely full of oxalis. Is there a easy way to rid the patch apart from digging it out and replacing the soil??????

Hi there,

I have a number of mature Cabbage Trees on the property which I like, but would like to “shape” a couple of them to stop limbs growing toward the balcony. I know from past experience simply cutting the limbs off will result in much thicker sprouting from the cut area.

Is there a way to treat the cut limb that will stop re-sprouting but not kill the tree? A friend suggested painting the limb with glyphosate but I’m not sure as I don’t want to kill the tree

We have a bare clay bank. It is quite steep (about 20 degrees off vertical), 1.5 metres high at the highest point tapering to nothing over about 20 metres.

It faces East and gets full sun from reasonable soon after the sun comes up until early afternoon.

We can dig holes at the base of the bank to put in good quality soil however I am reluctant to dig holes in the slope itself as this may cause erosion.

The top of the bank is a path.

I want to plant plants that will cover the bank and minimize any erosion. My preference is for native plants. During summer whatever is planted may only get watered once or twice a week.

I’m thinking along the lines of a robust ground cover or something that naturally spreads.

What would you suggest (I’m quite happy with three to five suggestions as some variety may be quite nice) and do you have it in stock or can you get it in the next couple of weeks? Pricing would also be useful.

Many thanks

I am looking at planting a hedge in particular a Hedge Camellia (pref fast growing). We live in a place that does recieve full to part sun, but is windy at times. The soil is clay will be trying to improve the soil before planting. What would be the best type of Hedge Camellia to plant here and how far apart will they need to be? I have had a quick look and wonder is Camellia Paradise Belinda is the right option. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, my Hebe Emerald Green in the front yard were doing really well for about 9 months, but now they are slowly turning brown and dying. Additional watering and fertilising didn’t seem to help at all. Is there anything I can do to save them or bring them back to life?

Thanks
Oliver

I bought a Cypress Bonsai tree a day ago for a gift and I forgot to ask for instructions on how to maintain it. It is a small tree with a lot of leaves, i bought it for $50 from the Glen Eden shop. How often does it need to be watered and what type of food does it need and how often? Also how often does it need to be put outside in the sun, because I wanted it mainly as an indoor plant.

Please can you tell me the correct way to prune hydrangeas. The lady we brought our house from pruned them to 12in above ground each year and they where beautiful. I do it and they wont flower. Please dont tell me to only prune stems that have just flowered. That leaves big long stragley stems.

I have three pittosporum plants growing along my fenceline. They have new growth and seem to be doing well, however I have just noticed that some of the leaves around the sides are yellowing and falling off. Could this be caused by some deficiency in the soil? Is there any products that would fix this?
