I planted a Mandarin Satsuma in my garden this time last year. In Spring, it was starting to grow. Strangely a branch came off from the lower stem with different leaves. The mandarin fruits are starting to fall off and this mandarin tree hasn’t grown much compared to the lemon tree planted the same time. My questions are: 1) what are those different leaves 2) do I need to do anything to that branches?

Please can you let me know what’s happening to the Palmerston North Palmers store. I understood it was closing for a rebuild, but nothing’s been happening. The Facebook page says it closed permanently, is this correct. Thanks.

I have just bought a blueberry plant with no clue as to how & where to plant it. I’m also planning to buy & plant a mandarin tree, passion fruit & feijoa trees. Could you tell me the best brands, times to plant & any other tips to help them survive at the hands of a novice gardener.

I end up with a lot of your plastic containers when I buy young plants. There used to be a place where you could return these pots/containers. Is it still there? They don’t seem to have a recycle number on them – I presume this means we have to throw them out in normal rubbish.

Where’s Palmers at, re recycling?
Thanks

I planted a Unique feijoa last winter – it’s leaves are chewed & it’s new tips aren’t developing, it’s remaining leaves are rather sparse.

Hi there, my boyfriend has a potted Sophora molloyi dragons gold kowhai tree that has been looking sickly for the past couple of weeks. It has always been a sparse spindly kind of tree with very thin trunk and branches, and is only small being about 1 meter wide and 0.5 meter high. It was repotted into a larger pot nearly 12 months ago and seemed to be doing well until recently. The leaves have almost all turned yellow and the thin branches seem to be wilting a lot. My boyfriend thinks this started after he didn’t water it for a week, but has been watering it daily since then with no obvious benefit. Is our tree salvageable??

Goood evening,

Wounder if you can help with our Port wine magnolia plants. Bushes are 8 to 9 years old and over 6′ tall. 2 years ago our farmer neighbor had lime put on. Because of wind I think most ended up at our place. It was thick. Bushes have twisted leaves and flowers, if you can call them flowers! Have feed them and sprayed bushes with
vinegar. Bushes still look terrible. Can you think of a solution, wait? or pull them out and start again.

Thanks Mark

Hi There,

I keep forgetting to come down to the shop and see you so this is easier. We have a peach tree which is now three years old. It has born some fruit [although the flowers were really prolific] but we have noticed that one branch has completely died. There are lots of groups of soft gum around the base of the tree and on the bottom branches. What do we need to do please?

Thank you
Linda
