Pomegranate Eversweet has large showy orange-red flowers over a long period from late spring through summer. The red fruit has a very sweet clear juice, virtually seedless. Immature fruit are also very sweet.
A deciduous tree, ideal for pots and containers, slowly growing to 3 metres in height.
Pomegranate thrives in hot dry summers but requires moisture during fruiting stage from late summer to late autumn. Is frost tolerant as it is deciduous. Pomegranate Eversweet will tolerate most soil conditions providing it is well drained.
Young trees need regular watering and general fertiliser. Once established they need little or no extra nutrients but will appreciate, a good mulch around the roots.
Harvest in late autumn/early winter, 5-7 months after flowering, fruit will not ripen after harvest.
Lightly prune after fruiting, to a desired shape this will encourage new growth. Fruits on new season wood.
