Dwarf Snap Bean produces a profusion of relatively small, stringless pods with excellent flavour which may be cooked or frozen. Dwarf Snap Bean grows to a height of 50 - 60cm.
Sow dwarf snap bean vegetable seeds 25mm deep in dark damp soil and avoid watering for a day or two afterwards. Ensure soil has been well prepared with organic compost and aged animal manure.
Sow 10-15cm apart allowing 50-60cm between rows. Ensure the danger of frosts has passed and protect plants from wind. Plant in 1-3m rows and remove weeds regularly. Keep the roots cool - a mulch of garden compost will help considerably. Water well in dry periods.
Additional fertiliser is not required a legumes produce their own nitrogen.
Regular harvesting will result in prolonged yields.
Plant in Spring and Summer; Autumn too in warmer zones
During periods of hot and humid weather; use a fine mist spray on flowers to assist with flower and pod set.
