Garden Centre Assistant
Love working with people and plants? We’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for an experienced, proactive team member to join our Garden Centre team. This is a hands-on role focused on customer service, stock presentation, and day-to-day garden centre operations. You’ll help keep our plant ranges looking their best and support customers with plant selection and care.
Roster: Part-time (3-4 days per week). Extra shifts may be available during peak season (Aug - Dec), up to 5 days per week.
Key responsibilities:
- Customer service: Assist customers with plant selection and provide practical advice on plant care.
- Stock & merchandising: Unload and stock plants and pots, maintain displays, and keep the department tidy and well-presented.
- Plant care: Basic maintenance such as watering and checking stock condition across varying weather conditions.
- General support: Manual handling and helping customers with lifting/carrying when needed.
- Checkout support: Front counter checkout/cashier support as required.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in a garden centre, nursery, landscaping, or large-format garden retail environment (preferred).
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round and doing physical, hands-on tasks.
- Reliable, organised, and able to prioritise during busy periods.
- We provide training and uniform.
