If you’re struggling to stay motivated at work after your summer break, going green may be just what you need. Adding a little greenery to your office or work environment is not only aesthetically pleasing, it can actually boost productivity! From wellness benefits, to air purifying advantages, there are many reasons why you should add office plants to your workspace. Research carried out by Dr. Roger S. Ulrich of Texas A&M University and Helen Russell, Surrey University, England as well as other studies conducted by Dr. Virginia Lohr of Washington State University, have revealed plants significantly lower workplace stress and enhance productivity.

Here are some of the best office plants to place in your work environment and the reasons why:

Picture perfect and a great office companion. Not only does a peace lily thrive in basically any environment, NASA also rates it as one of the best plants to improve air quality. Peace lilies remove more harmful VOCs (volatile organic compounds) from the air than any other plant, these contaminants have been known to cause headaches, nausea and other ailments. Simply pop in a pot with good drainage and a bit of space and water every few days.
