Easy, Cheesy Garlic Pizza Pull-Apart

Easy, Cheesy Garlic Pizza Pull-Apart

Who doesn’t love garlic pizza bread? This cheesy garlic pizza pull-apart is ridiculously tasty and as the name suggests, super easy! Plus, if you feel like making your own pizza sauce, we have your recipe below

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of ciabatta bread or oval bread loaf
  • 1 1/2 cups Mozzarella Cheese – this can be substituted for any cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or 1tsp of dried parsley
  • 3 large garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup pizza sauce (see recipe below if you’d like to make your own)
  • 1/4 onion finely chopped
  • 100g salami or pepperoni sliced (optional)
  • Salt and Pepper

Pizza Sauce Recipe

Ingredients (makes around 1.5 cups)

  • 5-6 whole peeled tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 onion, finely diced
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled and diced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Pinch salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, to saute

Pizza Sauce Method:

  1. Add the olive oil to a pan, saute onions until translucent
  2. Saute garlic and mix until golden
  3. Add in the tomatoes, stir well and bring to a simmer
  4. Season as desired and add in the dried oregano
  5. Simmer on a low heat, stirring often for at least 15 minutes

Pizza Pull-Apart Method:

  1. Either cut half-way through the bread, making diagonal slices, then create diagonal slices in the other direction – so effectively you make diamond shapes across the top of the loaf (make sure that you do not cut through to the base of the loaf), or make vertical cuts 3/4’s down along the entire loaf.
  2. Mix the butter and garlic together until soft and easy to spread. Crack a little salt and pepper into the butter-garlic mixture and mix through.
  3. Open up each little bread slice, and butter the inside of the slices, follow this with the pizza sauce. Follow this with the onion, salami and cheese.
  4. Sprinkle the top with parsley.
  5. Wrap in tin foil and bake at 180C for 15 minutes and then remove the foil and grill for 5 minutes until the top of the loaf has browned nicely.

Enjoy as an entree or a delicious side dish.
